At our deepest core, all of us want to be happy, get along with others and live in harmony with our world. Most of us would say that we want more time with our families and friends, more meaningful relationships, and more time to simply appreciate and be present with our lives. We have a nagging feeling of missing our lives and of disconnection.
And yet, the moment we find ourselves alone, many of us reach for our phones, our laptops, or our earbuds to take us from the present moment.
Handheld devices and always-on media, with all their admitted benefits, have the power to keep us constantly consuming, always searching for our next zap of digital stimulation. We live in a constant state of unease, and even longing, always looking for a better now.
We would like to improve our ability to listen, act on what really matters in our lives, and let go of the stifling sense of “me first” that often seems to drive us and our organizations. We would like to dispel “the bandits of distraction” that steal our attention and rob us of our better aspirations. We long to reclaim possession of our lives.
Our wisdom whispers that there’s another way.
The Mindful Work Initiative is a series of programs centered around the technique of mindfulness meditation which enables you to become fully empowered in your authentic selves at work and in life. Our work will give you a foundation in meditation and enable you to bring a more awake and joyful presence to all aspects of life.
The future depends on what we do today.
